Continuing the theme of intervention in existing buildings, the design of the star Shail Resort brings together old and new in a hill station context. The approach has been to reinterpret the old, drawing on the existing buildings’ proportions, while introducing a new color palette with contemporary ambience, while refurbishing the suites within a sanctuary.

Lonavala lies close to the city of Pune and has a tropical climate, with high levels of rainfall in monsoon. Reinterpreting existing elements in a new design language, the scheme’s design offers a new experience that focuses on making the existing elements visually lighter; and the facade is enclosed by unifying colors that accentuate the curved form.
